“If you want it done right…”:

Discovering our Subconscious Thoughts about Work

This workshop goes deep. We offer an opportunity for individuals to excavate their thoughts about work and the ways in which beliefs affects behavior. We discuss lessons learned from our parents about work, from our first jobs, and from years of professional service. Some of these lessons include: “If you want it done right, do it yourself,” “No pain, no gain” and “It’s a dog-eat-dog world.” Many of those subconscious thoughts affect what we do, or do not do, each day we arrive at the office. Discovering our earliest beliefs about work creates an opportunity to consciously create new thoughts. In this workshop, we change our minds!

Session Time: 75-90 Minutes

Y’all Gonna Make me Lose my Mind”:

Mindfulness and Working with Others

The actions of our partners, friends, co-workers, and even our children can serve as stressors, especially if we do not know how to use our minds to create peace in any circumstance. This workshop offers an opportunity to honestly assess your thoughts about others and their abilities. These thoughts positively or negatively affect what you do, how you feel, and what you expect. This workshop allows participants to consider the possibility of changing their minds about the capabilities of others in order to create new relationships and experience positive outcomes. This is an excellent workshop to build community and create an affirming environment. Changing what you expect can change what you get!

Coaching Skills for Leaders

. As a coaching service, we are skilled at teaching others to coach well. Pete Carroll says, “Each person holds so much power within themselves that needs to be let out. Sometimes they just need a little nudge, a little direction, a little support, a little coaching, and the greatest things can happen.” In this series leaders learn to give constructive feedback that can be heard and acted upon.

Coaching to Redirect

One of the greatest contributions a leader can make to an organization is helping the individuals on the team accomplish goals. Great managers understand that employees are in various stages of development and may require continuous coaching and feedback in order to develop the skills needed to meet designated goals. The purpose of this session is to assist your team in developing the necessary skills to coach others as they work to meet job expectations and goals. This session focuses on how to give feedback in a way that is descriptive, neutral, well-timed, and results in improved performance.

Session Time: 75 - 90 Minutes

The Art of Asking Questions

Often we are not getting the results we seek because we are not asking the right questions. Knowing how to ask questions that result in critical thought, meaningful conversations, and action is a learned skill. This is the workshop to learn how to ask. We focus on distinguishing open-ended verse close-ended questions. We teach leaders to ask big questions that expand thinking, instead of small questions that focus on the task-at-hand. When we ask the right questions, we open the door to receive the answers we seek.

Session Time: 60 - 75 Minutes

Hard Conversations

Conflict avoiders often worry about their likability. While it is natural to want to be liked, that is not always the most important thing. Many are surprised to find that research shows that employees like when they are given honest feedback that can improve their job-performance. Good leaders can give helpful feedback…even when it is hard. This workshop is based in how to have short and meaningful conversations about difficult topics. We include practical steps including:

  1. Having conversations quickly (Stop avoiding! It gets worse the longer you wait!)
  2. Beginning from a place of curiosity and respect.
  3. Focusing on what you are hearing.
  4. Being direct.
  5. Expecting positive outcomes.
  6. Checking-in.
